Iwak Asep - Bandeng, Patin and Jelawat

This is my first attempt at making home-made Iwak Asep.

The idea of making my very own Iwak ASep (Smoke Fish) started a long time ago. At that time I always buy them in quite a substantial amount of Bandeng Asep every time I flew home from Juanda International Airport .

Bandeng Asep is synonymous with Kota Sidoarjo. I went to the Bandeng Asep cooking class at Surabaya. It was a half-day course. The same establishment also sells the "Smoke Oven". But to buy it and to bring it back home is too costly.

I decided to emulate the oven here in my home town. The cost is cheaper compared to Air Cargo charges.

This time I try to use locally available fish as well.
